Editorial Policy & Astrology Methodology

How we calculate, write, review, and maintain the astrology content on CosmyDay โ€” and the standards we hold it to.

Who creates our content

CosmyDay is produced by the CosmyDay Astrology Team, a small group of writers and editors who work with Western (tropical) astrology. Our birth-chart, compatibility, and placement pages are built on astronomical calculations first, and interpreted in plain, modern English second โ€” no jargon walls, no fortune-cookie filler.

How our charts are calculated

Every chart on CosmyDay is computed from the Swiss Ephemeris, the same high-precision astronomical engine used by professional astrology software. We do not approximate or reuse generic tables.

  • Zodiac: Tropical (Western astrology), aligned to the seasons.
  • House system: Placidus, with a Whole Sign fallback at extreme latitudes where Placidus breaks down.
  • Bodies: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, the lunar nodes, Chiron, and Lilith.
  • Aspect orbs: Conjunction 8ยฐ, Sextile 6ยฐ, Square 7ยฐ, Trine 8ยฐ, Opposition 8ยฐ.
  • Timing & place: birth time and coordinates are resolved to the correct historical time zone before calculation, so the Ascendant and houses are accurate.

Reference facts such as a sign's element, modality, ruling planet, and a planet's essential dignity (rulership, exaltation, detriment, fall) follow standard traditional astrology and are applied consistently across the site.

How we use AI โ€” and where humans stay in the loop

We use AI tools to help draft and scale our written interpretations, and we are transparent about that. AI is a drafting aid, not the final authority: prompts are designed around real chart factors, the calculation layer is deterministic (not generated), and our team sets the structure, tone, and accuracy standards. We continually revise templates that read as generic and remove anything that doesn't add real value for the reader.

Accuracy, corrections & updates

Astrology is interpretive, not predictive certainty โ€” we present it as a tool for reflection, not as medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice. If you spot a factual or astronomical error (a wrong calculation, date, or attribution), we want to fix it. Pages are revised as we improve our methods and writing.
